Callaway Apex CF 16 and Apex Pro Irons 2016 - Sneak Preview

Callaway Golf unveiled their latest range of golf irons this morning, with huge changes to cosmetics and technology. This new range will hopefully cement their position as one of the leading iron manufacturers for 2016.

The predecessor to the 2016 Apex Iron was targeted at the better player and proved to be a very successful iron for the lower handicapper. The new Apex irons hit the same target market, with inspiration from the Callaway PGA Tour staff players to provide a workable iron with a classic look. The main goal for Callaway was to provide an iron that combines distance and workability, which has been achieved by installing the popular 360 cup technology in a forged head for the first time. This gives the 2016 Apex a hot and consistent face, that is especially effective on mishits.

A popular theme for all manufacturers this season is having progressive characteristics throughout the iron sets. Offering us with more playability and support when we need it most, which is usually in the longer irons. The new Apex CF16 has progressive offsets, changes in CG heights and different sole widths that when combined together produces a perfect balance of forgiveness, workability and control. This progressive iron pattern generates more forgiveness in the longer irons which is largely down to a greater offset head. The shorter irons have a more compact shape for greater control and workability.

It has received early recognition from popular online product reviewers Golfmagic by receiving gold in their strict category

The Apex Pro model also makes a return with a face lift and performance boost. A new tour influenced head shape and design gives the iron a classic look and feel, with the latest technology to enhance performance. The progressive pattern is also featured in the Pro version, with a tungsten insert in the 3-5 irons which lowers CG for higher launch. The shorter irons having a higher CG location for a more controlled ball flight.

Better players prefer a softer feeling iron. With this information and support from tour players, Callaway forged the irons with 1025 carbon for the softest feel and unparalleled performance.

Important: You will be pleased to know that Callaway will not charge for aftermarket steel shafts. This gives us the option for the perfect custom iron set up, without the fear of hidden up-charges.
