Ever had that special iron in your bag that just seems to feel right? That iron that you hit sweeter and more consistently than the others? The iron that has you saying “why can’t I hit all my other clubs like my seven iron?”

Well, Cobra Golf may have the solution for all golfers who have pondered that same question.

Cobra King F7 and Forged One Length irons, inspired by Bryson Dechambeau

PGA Tour pro Bryson DeChambeau, who clinched his card for 2017 via the web.com playoffs last month, has inspired Cobra to release a range of their new KING F7 and Forged irons that are equipped with identical length shafts.

For those who don't know, DeChambeau is not a cookie-cutter tour pro. A fan of the Hogan cap and unorthodox methodology, he subscribes to the theory of having every iron in his bag the same length as his seven iron. And this is where Cobra have taken DeChambeau's abstract approach and run with it.

Their new KING F7 and Forged One Length irons, due to be released in late November, have identical length shafts - which are about the same length as a regular seven iron (37¼ inches).

The philosophy behind Matching iron Lengths..

The philosophy behind DeChambeau's and now Cobra’s decision to have matching iron lengths is simple - the same swing is required for every club.

With regular irons, which Cobra are now calling their Variable length range, a golfer’s posture, ball position and spine angle all change according to the length of each iron. However, having identical shaft lengths reduces these variables – meaning the setup position is exactly the same for a four iron as a wedge.

The Cobra KING F7 will appeal to high handicappers with its cavity back credentials while the Cobra KING Forged model that DeChambeau uses features tungsten inserts on the heel and toe of the sole to increase control and assist with shot shaping.

Consistency is the Key to Playing Good Golf

As it is often said, consistency is the key to playing good golf. And Cobra believes their KING F7 and Forged one length offerings should lead to a more consistent swing. This should lead to a more consistent strike. Which should lead to a simpler and easier way to play golf. Now, there are a lot of shoulds in there, but when you boil it down the Cobra KING F7 and KING Forged one length irons will be like having a whole bag of your most trusted iron to call upon no matter the circumstances. And that should inspire confidence for those who need it most on the course.
