PGA Tour pro Bryson DeChambeau, who clinched his card for 2017 via the web.com playoffs last month, has inspired Cobra to release a range of their new KING F7 and Forged irons that are equipped with identical length shafts.
For those who don't know, DeChambeau is not a cookie-cutter tour pro. A fan of the Hogan cap and unorthodox methodology, he subscribes to the theory of having every iron in his bag the same length as his seven iron. And this is where Cobra have taken DeChambeau's abstract approach and run with it.

The philosophy behind DeChambeau's and now Cobra’s decision to have matching iron lengths is simple - the same swing is required for every club.
With regular irons, which Cobra are now calling their Variable length range, a golfer’s posture, ball position and spine angle all change according to the length of each iron.However, having identical shaft lengths reduces these variables – meaning the setup position is exactly the same for a four iron as a wedge.
The Cobra KING F7 will appeal to high handicappers with its cavity back credentials while the Cobra KING Forged model that DeChambeau uses features tungsten inserts on the heel and toe of the sole to increase control and assist with shot shaping.
