Jon Rahm What's in the Bag? (2024)
Posted by GolfBox on 4th Mar 2024
After winning the US Open at Torrey Pines in 2021 and the Masters in 2023, Jon Rahm has already achieved a Hall of Fame career. Known as ‘Rahmbo’, the prodigiously talented 28-year-old has become a fan favourite through his aggressive approach to the game.
He is also well known for having a short fuse, but it makes him way more relatable than most of his colleagues on tour; like most of us, he just wants to get the best out of his game and get the best clubs in his bag – and yes, slam them a little harder back in the bag after hitting a bad shot. Rahm made the switch to Callaway clubs and ball at the beginning of 2021 and hasn’t looked back.
He won the Mexico Open early in 2022 then claimed his third Spanish Open title in October before winning the DP World Tour Championship a few weeks later. The hot streak continued in 2023, with Rahm winning three of his first five starts (Sentry Tournament of Champions, American Express Championship and Genesis Invitational) before adding the Masters and becoming the world No.1 once more.
The spanish superstar shocked the golf world by moving to the LIV Tour in 2024. Jon Rahm captains a new team called "Legion XIII" and the team won on debut at LIV Mayakoba (February 2-4) 2024.
What clubs does Jon Rahm use?
WITB UPDATE 02/02/2024: Switches to Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Driver, Ai Smoke Triple Diamond fairway woods, Odyssey Ai-ONE Rossie putter and Callaway Chrome Tour X ball (LIV Mayakoba).
Let's take a look what's inside Jon Rahm’s bag:
JON RAHM DRIVER
DRIVER UPDATE 02/02/2024: CALLAWAY PARADYM Ai SMOKE TRIPLE DIAMOND DRIVER (10.5°)xxx
Rahm debuted Callaway’s new Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond driver at LIV Mayakoba, his 2024 season opener, and the driver replaced his Masters-winning Paradym TD.
Rahmbo sticks with the shaft he’s played for several seasons now - an Aldila Tour Green ATX 75 TX model - but the A.I. Smoke’s face was simply too good to ignore. Callaway’s A.I. assessed the data from thousands of golfers to determine where forgiveness was needed most.
The result is the most advanced, and forgiving, driver face Callaway has ever produced. Featuring the most compact head (450cc) in the Ai Smoke driver line-up, the Triple Diamond is also the lowest-spinning and lowest-launching model, giving it the capacity to handle Rahm’s immense speed and power.
OLD DRIVER: CALLAWAY PARADYM TRIPLE DIAMOND (10.5°)
Rahm debuted the new Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond driver in Hawaii at the Tournament of Champions in January and it was a dazzling start to the partnership, to say the least. He notched three wins from his first five starts and looked incredibly comfortable off the tee with the new driver in the bag.
Callaway’s Paradym driver features something entirely new: a 100 per cent carbon fibre chassis. It weighs 44 per cent less than titanium and it allowed Callaway to apply additional mass lower and deeper in the club head to create more forgiveness.
Rahm’s Paradym Triple Diamond is the most compact of the three Paradym drivers (450cc). It is also the lowest-spinning and lowest-launching and offers the most workability thanks to its smaller head and a neutral ball flight.
An Aldila Tour Green ATX 75 TX shaft is fitted to Rahm’s Paradym Triple Diamond driver.
Jon Rahm Fairway Woods
FAIRWAY UPDATE 02/02/2024: CALLAWAY Ai SMOKE TRIPLE DIAMOND FAIRWAY (#3 - 16°, #5 - 18°)
Following his switch to the new Ai Smoke driver, Rahm has also updated his fairway woods to Callaway’s new Paradym Ai Smoke line-up.
He has opted to play the Triple Diamond variant in both his three and five woods, but he plays an exclusive Tour version that isn’t available at retail. However, the Triple Diamond’s compact head shape and low-spin/low-launching performance is geared towards the better player, which seems a perfect match for a player of Rahm’s ilk.
A sole weight positioned just behind the leading edge shifts the head’s centre of gravity forward to reduce spin.
It’s a characteristic that helps Jon squeeze the most distance out of his powerful swing and should give him the green light to attack the tour’s longest par fives in 2024 and set up more eagle putts.
OLD FAIRWAY: CALLAWAY PARADYM TRIPLE DIAMOND (#3 16°, #5 18°)
The fairway woods in Jon Rahm’s bag largely mirror his driver - a compact head shape and forward centre of gravity for a low-launching, low-spinning ball flight.
A sole weight, positioned just behind the face, reduces spin to help Jon maximise his distance with a more penetrating trajectory.
Paradym Triple Diamond fairway woods are also the most compact in the range, which increases the shaping bandwidth the Spanish superstar has at his disposal.
A Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8 X shaft is fitted to each of Rahm’s Triple Diamond fairway woods.
Jon Rahm Irons
CALLAWAY APEX TCB IRONS (4-PW)
Feel and workability are at the top of Rahmbo’s iron wish list, which is why he plays Callaway’s Apex TCB irons.
Apex TCB irons are compact, classically-styled forged irons with minimal offset, designed for tour pros and elite ball strikers. They are engineered to produce a piercing ball flight while aiding ball flight control and workability – characteristics similar to the Apex 21 MB muscleback irons – but they are cavity-backed irons (hence the TCB [Tour Cavity Back] branding).
The cavity back construction adds extra forgiveness to the Tour-grade Apex TCB players’ irons. But be warned: they are made for players like Rahm who consistently find the middle of the club face. Rahmbo has Project X Rifle 6.5 shafts fitted to all his Apex TCB irons.
Rahm’s Apex TCB irons are no longer available but

Jon Rahm Wedges
CALLAWAY JAWS RAW WEDGES (52°, 56°, 60°)
Three Callaway JAWS Raw wedges complement Rahm’s famously soft ‘Spanish hands’. Callaway’s sharp JAWS groove design provides the control and stopping power that Rahm requires around the greens, while the raw finish offers even more grip for the ball to latch on to while it runs up the face of the wedge.
Rahm’s three JAWS Raw wedges are customised to his bounce and grind specifications but there are five standard JAWS Raw grinds available (C, S, X, W and a new Z) in a variety of loft and bounce configurations.
Project X Rifle 6.5 shafts are fitted to all three of Jon Rahm’s wedges.
OLD WEDGES: CALLAWAY MD5 JAWS WEDGES (52°, 56°, 60°)
For comprehensive coverage in the scoring zone, Rahm has three Callaway MD5 Jaws wedges at his disposal.
Callaway’s renowned Jaws groove design gives Rahm an additional 500rpm of spin that delivers control and stopping power around the green.
Rahm has the grind and bounce of his three Mack Daddy 5 Jaws wedges customised to his specifications but there are four standard Jaws grinds - C, S, X, W – in a variety of loft and bounce configurations.
Project X Rifle 6.5 shafts feature in all three of his wedges.
Jon Rahm Putter
PUTTER UPDATE 02/02/2024: ODYSSEY Ai-ONE ROSSIE
Rahm replaced his Odyssey White Hot OG Rossie putter as soon as the new Odyssey Ai-ONE putter range came out late in 2023. While he sticks with the Rossie head shape, the switch to Odyssey’s Ai-ONE putter appears primarily driven by the extra consistency offered by the A.I.-designed face topology.
Off-centre strikes roll more consistently and hold their line better off the face of the Ai ONE’s White Hot-inspired insert. And that should help Rahmbo lead his Legion XIII squad to victory on the LIV Tour, and, individually, might help him land a third major in 2024.
Rahm’s mid-mallet Rossie features a slant neck hosel, which produces a moderate amount of toe hang.
OLD PUTTER: ODYSSEY WHITE HOT OG ROSSIE S PUTTER
Rahm has experimented with a new Odyssey Ten 2-Ball putter but settled on an Odyssey White Hot OG Rossie S putter.
And after burying two late birdie putts in his US Open win, it will no doubt become a favourite. The Rossie S is a mid-mallet that features a short slant neck hosel, to produce a moderate level of toe hang to suit strokes that open and shut the putter face.
White Hot OG putters also feature Odyssey’s original White Hot urethane insert, which promotes a smooth roll and sweet impact sound off the face.
Jon Rahm Golf Ball
Jon Rahm plays the new Chrome Tour X golf ball, which is the highest spinning model in the 2024 Chrome range.
With a compression of 98 - identical to the previous Chrome Soft X ball Rahm played - the Chrome Tour X offers a firm feel off the club face.
The high-spin ceiling of the Chrome Tour X allows Rahm to generate extra stopping power when he needs to (it offers 300rpm more than the Chrome Soft X on a 50-yard shot) but allows the Spaniard complete control over his spin rate and trajectory.
Jon Rahm's motivation to make the move to TravisMathew apparel and Cuater footwear can be attributed primarily to the signature blend of performance, comfort, and style that they strive to offer in each product. Travis Mathew is committed to crafting products that meet the performance requirements of the best players in the world while still delivering comfort, style, and versatility. This was a major draw for Jon when he was looking for an apparel and footwear partner.
