NEW TaylorMade TP Reserve Putters
Posted by GolfBox on 23rd Jun 2023
TaylorMade’s new TP Reserve putter collection isn’t about upsetting the apple cart. It’s more about reimagining it in the most precise and beautiful way possible.
The TP Reserve line-up offers a fresh angle on some of the game’s most classic head shapes. Historically, TaylorMade TP putters have been cast and polished. But TaylorMade decided to flip the script for the new Reserve release.
It’s the first to be entirely precision milled and it took a monumental level of dedication and patience to make it work. But TaylorMade knew it was the path they needed to take in order to achieve the precise level of detail that characterises the TP Reserve range.
There are four blades and four mallets to choose from and each one is a testament to TaylorMade’s commitment to building putting perfection.

A-CLASS RESERVE
Because putting is closer to an artform than a science, form and style tend to exert an oversized influence on performance.
Topline thickness, head width, bumper style, curvy or straight edges: they all contribute to the look and feel of a putter and its ultimate performance out on the greens.
TaylorMade have put much care and consideration into refining the look and feel of the TP Reserve collection, taking feedback from TaylorMade’s tour pros to strike the right balance between elegance and performance.
TP Reserve putters are entirely milled from 303 stainless steel, the perfect material to instil a soft and precise feel off the face.
And they don’t feature a face insert, which speaks to the incredible level of precision TaylorMade were able to create through the milling process.
Instead, a light linear skim mill is machined across the entire width of the putter face, which effectively reduces the surface area of the face to sharpen feel.
Grooves are then cut into the face at a precise depth to produce a pleasingly crisp impact sound that remains consistent regardless of where impact occurs.
TP Reserve putters feature a Hydroblast finish and are fitted with a KBS Stepless shaft and Lamkin Pistol grip.
THE TP RESERVE PUTTER LINE-UP
TAYLORMADE TP RESERVE B11
A traditional Anser-style blade putter, the B11 takes over where the previous TP Juno left off. Precise lines and sharp edges exude classic elegance but the B11 features a longer blade length. Fitted with a new plumber’s style, L-Neck #1 hosel — revised with a shorter connection length into the hosel — the B11 offers 38° of toe hang.
TAYLORMADE TP RESERVE B13
The B13 is identical to the B11 but is fitted with Short Slant #3 hosel. The B13 has the most toe hang in the TP Reserve line-up at 57° and should suit players who aggressively rotate the face during their stroke.
TAYLORMADE TP RESERVE B29
Curved bumpers and flowing edges characterise the B29 blade putter, which takes many of its visual cues from the TP Soto putter. Soft and subtle in appearance, the B29 is fitted with a Flow Neck #9 hosel that offers 52° of toe hang.
TAYLORMADE TP RESERVE B31
The B31 is a wide-bodied blade that riffs off the TP Del Monte design. A shallowed-out face height and thinner top line contribute to its tour-inspired appearance. It features an L-Neck #1 hosel, which translates into a moderate 34° of toe hang.
TAYLORMADE TP RESERVE M21
High-MOI fanged mallets never go out of style and the M21, based on the design of the TP Bandon, is further proof. The fangs are longer and the rear cavity has been shaped squarer for a crisp appearance, while the sole plate has been engineered to enhance feel and sound. The M21 is fitted with an L-Neck #1 hosel that generates a more judicious 34° of toe hang.
TAYLORMADE TP RESERVE M27
Identical to the M21 except for the hosel, the M27 is the most face-balanced putter in the TP Reserve collection. Its Single Bend #7 hosel will suit more straight-back-and-through putting strokes via a user-friendly 10° of toe hang.
TAYLORMADE TP RESERVE M37
A new shape in the TP Reserve line, the M37 is a very traditional round mallet. It’s the only TP Reserve putter with an alignment marker on the topline and also features twin lines inscribed on the rear cavity. A Single Bend #7 shaft makes it almost face balanced, with 12° of toe hang.
TAYLORMADE TP RESERVE M47
Is it a blade, is it a mallet? It’s both! The M47 blends aspects of a blade and mallet in a flawlessly designed hybrid putter. Featuring the thickest topline of any TP Reserve mallet, the M47 has sweeping bumpers and curved edges that are eye-catchingly graceful. A Single Bend #7 shaft prescribes 15° of toe hang, making it an option for players who prefer to play a face-balanced mallet.
