Srixon ZX Range of Golf Clubs
Posted by GolfBox on 12th Oct 2020
Srixon’s new ZX collection of clubs has been a couple of years in the making, but if speed and performance are anywhere on your golfing priority list then you’re going to agree that the wait has been more than worth it.
True to Srixon’s meticulous design process, the new clubs boast significant gains in both speed and performance while the sleek new designs are a tribute to Srixon’s attention to detail.
Two new drivers, the ZX7 and ZX5, feature a new “rebound frame” design to boost ball speeds, with the new system carried through into ZX fairway woods and hybrids.
The new ZX7 irons are Srixon’s fresh take on traditional blades, offering workability and precise feel, while the new ZX5 irons feature a hot face insert for extra distance and impressive forgiveness.
Woods & Hybrids
Both Wood & Hybrid are Long, forgiving and highly versatile off the tee or the deck.
Irons
Traditionally shaped ZX7 players’ irons or the forgiving and distance-enhancing ZX5 irons.
SRIXON ZX DRIVERS
Srixon’s NEW ZX5 and ZX7 drivers are easy to appreciate and even easier to play.
The drivers are the longest Srixon has ever produced and share much of the same technology, however, they each offer slightly different launch and playability characteristics – the kind of bonus features that personalise a driver to an individual’s needs.
A new “rebound frame” design has been incorporated into ZX drivers and does what all good drivers should do: boost speed, distance and forgiveness.
Rebound Frame
The Rebound Frame system distorts and flexes at impact like a spring to generate ball speed and distance, especially from strikes out of the sweet spot.
ZX5 Adjustability
With a single weight located towards the rear of the sole, the ZX5 driver flies high and straight. An adjustable hosel also provides variation in loft, life, and face angle.
ZX7 Adjustability
ZX7 model features two adjustable weights near the toe and heel, offers a greater level of ball flight customisation and a lower, more penetrating ball flight. An adjustable hosel also provides variation in loft, life, and face angle.
Carbon Fibre Crown
Both ZX drivers feature a carbon fibre crown which is larger and lighter than previous Srixon drivers. Removing weight from high on the clubface helps concentrate mass low and deep within the clubhead to boost forgiveness, particularly on off-centre strikes.
TWO SRIXON DRIVERS
While the ZX5 and ZX7 may look similar, they offer different launch and flight characteristics to appeal to different skill and feel requirements. Both drivers have an adjustable hosel for loft and lie angle variations.
Designed for towering, straight drives with minimal effort, the Srixon ZX5 driver has a larger footprint and a flatter crown than its ZX7 counterpart. It is also more forgiving and has a single 8g sole weight located towards the rear of the sole. The swing weight of the ZX5 driver can be altered by exchanging the default sole weight with a lighter or heavier Srixon sole weight (sold separately).
Configured with two adjustable sole weights located on the toe and heel, the ZX7 driver offers customisable ball flights to spark the imagination. Four gram and eight gram weights can be swapped to shift the centre of gravity, promoting either a draw (8g in toe) or a fade (8g in heel). The ZX7 has a more penetrating ball flight than the ZX5 driver and is suited to high-swing speed players who prefer to shape the ball.
SRIXON ZX FAIRWAY WOOD AND HYBRID
Fairway finders off the tee or green-seeking weapons off the deck, Srixon ZX fairway woods and hybrids are highly versatile performers.
With their capacity to keep you out of trouble and get you back in the birdie hunt, Srixon have made the new ZX fairway wood and hybrid range longer and faster.
The speed-boosting rebound frame tech seen in ZX drivers has filtered through to ZX fairway woods and hybrids while a new crown step boosts forgiveness, particularly for shots off the deck.
Rebound Frame
Rigid and flexible regions are weaved through the ZX Fairways/Hybrids’ face and clubhead to prevent energy loss at impact, directing more power into the ball for extra distance.
Carbon Fibre Crown
A larger and lighter carbon fibre crown directs mass lower in the clubhead and pushing MOI up and increasing forgiveness. (3+,3W only)
Cannon Sole
Srixon have added a sole weight – shaped like a cannon - just behind the ZX Fairway woods’ leading edge to help the face flex at impact. This leads to increased ball speeds and a more penetrating trajectory.
Tour-Preferred Shape
ZX Hybrids have a smaller footprint, straight face angle, and squared-off toe. It's a hybrid designed to suit a skilled player's eye, and inspire confidence as you address your most challenging shots.
Versatility in the long game is invaluable. ZX Fairway Woods boast as much power off the deck as they do off the tee, giving you speed and distance wherever you need it. Featuring a penetrating launch, low spin with a shallow face and compact profile.
A tour-preferred shape gives you confidence at address and control across the course. ZX Hybrids were built to look as workable as they are, so that no matter where you find your second shot, it’s easy to put yourself in scoring position. Featuring a penetrating Launch, with Low Spin and Tour-Preferred Shaping.

SRIXON ZX IRONS
Srixon’s reputation for producing some of the best forged irons going around has been hard-earned through decades of experience and development.
Fast-tracking ingenuity simply isn’t an option when designing irons; Srixon’s new ZX irons are the culmination of progressive thinking and creativity through prolonged persistence.
Srixon irons have always possessed kerb appeal, with their alluring visuals and expert craftsmanship a standout feature over their competitors. Whether it’s the ZX7’s simple and striking elegance, the ZX5’s robust technological prowess or the practical authenticity of the ZX Utility long-iron replacement, all three ZX irons can be mixed, matched and integrated into a full set.
Mainframe Architecture
ZX5 irons feature AI-designed face architecture to enhance COR and boost ball speed from a wide area of the club face. The maze of valleys, bumps and channels on the rear of the face was perfected through machine learning to make the irons Srixon’s fastest yet.
Tour Cavity
ZX7 irons have mass shifted slightly to the perimeter to add a touch of forgiveness to the tour-level irons. Srixon’s tour cavity provides ZX7 irons with the softest feel and highly workable characteristics, which is why they’re a favourite on tour.
Tour VT Sole
A V-shaped sole improves feel at impact and helps ZX5 and ZX7 irons glide through the turf cleanly, even when striking the ground slightly before the ball. Also making an appearance are Srixon’s sole notches, which provide greater workability without impacting forgiveness.
Multi-Piece Construction
Tungsten in the toe of the ZX5 and ZX7 long and mid irons (3i-7i) increases MOI for more stability and forgiveness. A forged SUP10 face enhances speed and distance while a forged 1020 Carbon Steel body absorbs vibrations for an extremely soft feel.
As Srixon’s flag-bearing performance iron, Srixon ZX5 irons are loaded with innovations that make them soft, fast and powerful.
Their forged multi-piece construction features a thin and flexible AI-designed face that enhances speed and distance while a piece of high-density tungsten in the toe increases the ZX5 irons’ MOI and stability. A soft 1020 carbon steel body absorbs vibration to improve feel and feedback.
ZX7 irons are the workability workhorses that will be at home in the hands of elite ballstrikers. With their compact head shape, thin topline and narrow sole, they are irons bred with a tour pedigree, for those players who shape and work the ball at will.
Forged from a single piece of 1020 carbon steel, the irons offer a buttery feel and increased stability through the inclusion of tungsten in the toe. A perimeter weighting frame offers some forgiveness while the irons also focus mass on the sweet spot for superb speed from the centre.
The hollow-bodied Srixon ZX Utility irons are a versatile bunch and should prove more than handy in those tricky situations that players face regularly out on the links.
Designed to be a replacement for long irons, ZXU irons provide a straight and reliable flight ideal for those windblown days while also being a trusty fall-back option on narrow driving holes.
High-density tungsten is added to the sole to lower the centre of gravity and provide high launching ball flights while the AI-designed forged face is strong, light and flexible to generate ball speed and distance.
