TAYLORMADE P730 IRONS

The new TaylorMade P730 irons can be rightfully described as the most precise Tour iron TaylorMade have ever produced.

Drawing on feedback from 2013 US Open winner and TaylorMade staffer Justin Rose, TaylorMade P730 irons are designed for the world’s best players, for action on the world’s top tours. CLICK TO VIEW OUR YOUTUBE REVIEW

TaylorMade P730 and P790 Irons

The P730 is the first muscleback blade TaylorMade have manufactured since the Tour Preferred MB in 2014 and features a number of refinements. A more compact blade length (73mm), re-worked leading edge, thinner topline and a crisper appearance enhance the P730’s tour-ready credentials.

Forged from one solid lump of soft 1025 carbon steel, TaylorMade P730 irons are made for workability and shot-shaping, with a milled clubface and precision-milled grooves producing an exceptionally soft feel and pure strike off the turf.

TaylorMade P730 irons are a premium ball striker’s iron.

TAYLORMADE P790 IRONS

A classic-looking but versatile forged iron, TaylorMade P790 irons are well and truly punching above their weight.

Boasting enhanced feel, forgiveness and workability, the TaylorMade P790 is an immaculate looking iron that is also a beast in the distance department.

Fabricated with a 4140 forged carbon steel face melded to an 8620 carbon steel body, the TaylorMade P790’s clean and refined shape belies the hollow cavity construction that is key to the superb performance. CLICK TO VIEW THE YOUTUBE REVIEW

Inside the TaylorMade P790’s engine room, playability and forgiveness is created through an internal MIM (Metal Injection Moulding) Tungsten weight, which is strategically located inside each iron in the set, to optimise the CG and boost MOI.

TaylorMade P790 irons have a clubface thickness of a mere 1.75mm for greater flexibility, particularly around the heel, toe and the lower portion of the clubface. The result is higher ball speed and distance across the entire 79mm-wide clubface.

Irons 3-7 in the TaylorMade P790 iron set have a “speed slot” engineered into the sole to improve performance when shots are thinned.

TaylorMade P790 irons also feature a new sound-damping polymer called SpeedFoam that is injected into the hollow cavity via a small toe-side screwhole.

SpeedFoam has been specifically developed by TaylorMade to support the clubface, reduce vibration and enhance feel in the P790 irons.

The TaylorMade P790 is a forged distance iron that still retains shot-shaping characteristics.
