Taylormade PSi And PSi Tour Iron Review

DEMANDS OF THE BETTER PLAYER
Taylormade's main goal for the PSi range was to create a better players, performance golf club. This is not something that you tend to hear together. As you either have a small headed better players golf club, that is ideal for workability. Or you have a bigger cavity with more performance improving technology.
Have Taylormade achieved the almost impossible task of using a better players head design and equipping it with performance enhancing properties?
Well the PSi range certainly ticks every box for a 'Players Iron', with the main focus being on feel, looks and sound. A medium sized head design allows for the space to install a Dynamic Feel System, that features a compression damper and cavity badge. This innovation limits vibrations across the face for a great feeling iron, without jeopardizing ball speed. The set design consists of strong tungsten weighting in the longer irons and forged shorter irons. This combination promotes a powerful long game and a more controlled short game, with a crisp sound and feel.
The Face Slot Technology has carried over from the RSi range and continues to provide a hotter club face on the PSi. Featuring a toe and heel slot that boosts our mishit shot performance for more consistent distances. The speed pocket also makes a return, to support our low mishit strikes on the iron face. A progressive specification package means that each iron adapts its design to excel in its specific role. Changes in blade length, offset and top line thickness makes the PSi visually appealing at address.
The cut-thru sole and thin 2mm face provides faster ball speeds to a better players compact head design, this allowing Taylormade to boast their 'better players performance iron' achievement. This also consequently lowers the CG location to generate faster ball speeds at an optimum launch angle.
