The smug confidence that comes with extra distance and increased forgiveness is what the new Titleist TSR driver range can bring to your game.

While the four models – TSR1, TSR2, TSR3 and TSR4 – share many similarities, such as the classic Titleist looks, each one is designed for a different type of golfer.

There’s an aim-and-pull-the-trigger bomber, a fully adjustable driver with draw or fade bias, a smaller, low-spin model that launches lower for a more penetrating trajectory and an ultra-lightweight model built for slow swing speeds.

Made for golfers with a low to moderate swing speed, the TSR1 driver prioritises speed and distance. A redesigned head and a lightweight shaft and grip combine to make it 40g lighter than the TSR2 driver.

The ultra-lightweight design boosts club head speed, launch and distance for players with a swing speed under 90mph. The TSR1 driver has the deepest CG in the range to maximise launch and ball speed, while the tip of MMT SpeedMesh shaft is tuned for maximum energy transfer at impact.

The TSR2 is the point-and-bomb model, offering maximum speed and stability. More pear-shaped than the TSi2 it is replacing – a change recommended by Titleist’s tour staff - it is also more aerodynamic.

The secret sauce is the new face topography, which expands forgiveness over a larger area so mis-hits retain speed. A rear weight (9g, but interchangeable) has been shifted from the sole to the overhang of the crown, which increases launch angle for extra carry distance while boosting MOI.

The TSR3 offers precise flight shape tuning, which makes it the most playable driver of the TSR treble. An 8g weight on the rear of the sole can be moved into five different positions to create a draw or fade bias.

But key to the TSR3’s performance is the Speed Ring, which is hidden internally behind the middle of the face. The Speed Ring enhances performance when strikes are out of the centre, making the TSR3 a top choice for flushers who find the middle of the face frequently.

Boasting a smaller head than its siblings (430cc vs 460cc), the TSR4 driver is the spin-killing model which also offers adjustability. Two sole weights (11g and 3g) can be swapped to achieve different ball flights.

The heavier weight in the rear will cut spin by 300rpm and create a lower launch; the opposite will increase spin but still generate a lower launch than the TSR3 (more akin to a TSR3.5). Like the TSR2, it has a face structure that produces more speed across the entire face area.

All four models in the Titleist TSR driver range are fitted with Titleist’s SureFit hosel, which can alter lofts and lie angles in 0.75˚ increments - up to 1.5˚ or down 0.75˚. As well as the four featured shafts, there are also three premium shaft options available by Graphite Design: Tour AD UB, Tour AD DI and Tour AD IZ.

Titleist focused on the four Fs when designing the TSR range of fairway woods: Flight, Feel, Form and Forgiveness.

The redesign has produced four classic-looking, tour-inspired TSR fairway woods – TSR1, TSR2, TSR2+ and TSR3. The four models are designed to launch higher and faster and are more forgiving than ever before.

But it’s the addition of the naughty TSR2+ that makes the TSR fairway wood range intriguing – with a bigger head it’s intended as a driver alternative for better players.

Designed for players with slow swing speeds, the TSR1 fairway wood increases distance by helping players get their ball into the air higher and faster.

Despite its large head profile (180cc), the TSR1 fairway wood is 20g lighter than its TSR2 counterpart. The new head shape, combined with the lightweight shaft, also makes it the most forgiving fairway in the line-up.

TThe TSR2 fairway wood is the highest-launching of the three models and also the most forgiving. With Titleist’s Active Recoil Channel not included in the TSR fairway range, it freed up mass to be positioned more effectively and further forward, which increases ball speed while also retaining stability.

The TSR2 fairway is easy to hit and is effective off the tee or from any lie.

With most tour players rarely hitting their three woods into par fives and more often using them off the tee for accuracy, the TSR2+ was developed specifically as an alternative to the driver.

At 190cc it’s big (15cc bigger than the TSR2) and it is available in one loft: just 13˚. But the smooth sole of the TSR2+ means it will still perform well off the fairway if it’s called into action.

The TSR3 fairway wood promotes a more piercing trajectory and offers flight bias via its moveable weight in the sole. The SureFit CG track offers two draw and fade settings as well as a neutral slot if players want to work the ball both ways.

The TSR3’s compact, pear-shaped head and low-spinning properties – achieved with a more forward centre of gravity – make it an excellent option for players seeking precise performance.
