Wilson DYNAPWR Drivers, Fairways, Hybrids and Irons
Posted by GolfBox on 22nd Feb 2023
Injecting a sense of nostalgia into just about anything invariably makes punters sit up and take notice.
The AFL’s heritage jumper round. Throwback paint schemes in F1. Replica sneaker reissues. Nostalgic tributes to the style and form of yesteryear and have proven extremely popular, with society seemingly keen for a small taste of the past to reminisce about the good ol’ days.
Which brings us to the 2023 Wilson DYNAPWR line-up of Drivers, Fairway Woods, Hybrids and Irons.
The DYNAPWR name won’t mean much to golfers these days. But back in the 1950s and 60s, at a time when driver heads were small and shirt collars were big, Wilson Dynapower were the clubs to play.
Resurrecting the name is a nod to Wilson’s storied past. But the new DYNAPWR range looks poised to create history of its own and steer Wilson back to its glory days.
Wilson Dynapower Fairway woods and hybrids are long and enticingly versatile with a sleeker head shape.
WILSON DYNAPWR DRIVERS
Wilson put the supercomputer into sport mode to create the new Dynapower driver. Like the previous Wilson D9 driver, the job of designing the new Dynapower driver face was handed over to artificial intelligence.
This time round, though, a greater amount of time was allocated to let AI do its thing, with the supercomputer cycling through thousands of different face designs.
It eventually hit upon one that offered the best combination of ball speed, distance and forgiveness across the entire face. And that’s what now powers the Wilson Dynapower driver.
If ever there was a driver to challenge the dominance of the big five (TaylorMade, Callaway, PING, Cobra and Titleist) Wilson has surely produced it with the new Dynapower.
Driver Technology
DYNAPOWER AI FACE
Wilson turned to AI to design the topography of the Dynapower driver face. After cycling through thousands and thousands of designs, the perfect face thickness was determined to maximise speed and forgiveness in every area of the face.
CARBON PANELS
Extra panels of carbon fibre make the Wilson Dynapower Carbon driver a low-spinning beast off the tee. They shift the centre of gravity forward, cutting spin and creating a more penetrating trajectory off the tee.
*Dynapower Carbon driver only.
REAR WEIGHTING
A 16g rear weight on the sole of the Wilson Dynapower Titanium driver launches tee shots high and long. The deep and rearward centre of gravity stabilises the driver head, while offering a slight draw bias.
*Dynapower Titanium driver only.
TWO WILSON DYNAPOWER DRIVERS
Low spin or maximum forgiveness? It’s up to you! The new Dynapower driver pairing offers two distinctly different drivers within the same AI-designed framework.
LOW SPIN HEAD DESIGN
Neutral bias and mid-launch ball flight for ultimate workability and distance in the Carbon driver.
HIGH MOI HEAD DESIGN
Neutral-to-draw bias for mid-to-high launch maximizes forgiveness for straight, consistent flight in the Titanium driver.
DYNAPOWER CARBON DRIVER
The Dynapower Carbon driver is the low spinning model made for better players. It features lightweight carbon panels on the sole and crown, which shift the centre of gravity forward for lower spin and launch, and a neutral ball flight.
DYNAPOWER TITANIUM DRIVER
A low and deep centre of gravity and a 16g rear weight combine to make the Dynapower Titanium driver highly forgiving and stable. It launches higher than the Dynapower Carbon driver and features a slight draw bias to combat a slice.
WILSON DYNAPOWER DRIVER FEATURES
Wilson Dynapower drivers are fitted with a Fujikura Ventus Blue (carbon) or Project X HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX (titanium) shaft. A Lamkin Crossline 360 grip is standard. Dynapower drivers also feature a six-way adjustable hosel for a range of launch and spin options.

WILSON DYNAPWR FAIRWAY & HYBRID
Constructed from sturdy Carpenter steel and offering plenty of fizz off the face, Wilson Dynapower fairway woods and hybrids will be a big hit (pun intended) on the fairways. And off the tee, too.
Like the Dynapower driver, the AI-designed face produces some seriously impressive pop off the club face. Wilson’s Tour staff had direct input into the head profile of both the Dynapower fairway wood and hybrid, with a sleeker head shape and a more workability the result.
Fairway Woods Technology
DYNAPOWER AI
Dynapower fairway woods and hybrids maximise speed and forgiveness across every area of the face via an AI-designed face.
HIGH-MOI HEAD
A 12g rear weight produces a high launching and forgiving ball flight in the Dynapower fairway wood.
INTERNAL WEIGHTING
Internal weighting produces a stable and forgiving club head and a high-launching ball flight in the Dynapower hybrid.
WILSON DYNAPOWER FAIRWAY & HYBRID
The new Wilson Dynapower fairway woods and hybrids promote fast and precise performance at the top end of the bag – all you need to do is swing and deliver!
DYNAPOWER FAIRWAY WOOD
Dynapower fairway woods offer electrifying performance from the fairway or tee, with a variable thickness face powering high velocity ball speeds and a rear sole weight generating a towering ball flight.
DYNAPOWER HYBRID
Internally weighted to drive the centre of gravity low, Dynapower hybrids offer effortless high-launching performance and ultra-forgiveness. Feedback from Wilson’s tour staff has created a flatter profile that inspires confidence at address.

WILSON DYNAPWR IRONS
Wilson’s decision to resurrect the Dynapower iron may seem like a bold move by given its major-winning pedigree.
But it indicates just how serious Wilson are about re-establishing their presence in the game. The 2023 Dynapower irons in no way resemble their forerunners, which were pure and simple blades.
Instead, Wilson have done a complete U-turn. The newest generation of Dynapower irons are crammed with all the latest and greatest technology available to make the ball go further and straighter.
That’s the ultimate tip of the cap to the revered Dynapower name.
Iron Technology
DYNAPOWER AI
The AI-designed iron face improves performance between the centre and toe, where 85 per cent of shots are struck by 10+ handicappers.
HIGH MOI/LOW CG
Dynapower irons’ extreme stability and a low centre of gravity affords plenty of forgiveness and a high launch/steep descent angle.
OVERSIZED HEAD
Dynapower irons may be oversized but they don’t appear or feel too big thanks to optimal offset and an unobtrusive topline.
DYNAPOWER IRONS - WORTH THE WAIT?
The revered Wilson Dynapower iron makes its long-awaited return. And judging on performance, the wait has been well and truly worth it…
DYNAPOWER IRONS
Dynapower irons emphasise distance and stability, with an AI-designed face generating supreme ball speeds in areas of the face that most 10+ handicap golfers regularly interact with. But an inconspicuous topline - a subtle nod to the great Wilson Dynapower models of the past - and a progressive offset belies the oversized nature of the irons.
DYNAPOWER IRON FEATURES
Wilson Dynapower irons are available with a KBS Max Ultralite steel shaft or a UST Recoil Dart 65 graphite shaft. A Lamkin Crossline 360 grip is fitted as standard.
