Brooks Koepka What's in the Bag? (2024)

With his powerful physique and an impressive ability to step up in majors, Brooks Koepka is one of golf’s most intriguing players. A winner of five majors (US Open 2017, 2018 and US PGA 2018, 2019, 2023), Koepka’s game shines when the stakes are high and the pressure is on.

The former world No.1 joined the LIV Tour in late 2022 and experienced almost immediate success when winning in Jeddah. In 2023, he won LIV Orlando before finishing runner-up to Jon Rahm at the Masters a couple of weeks later. The following month he joined some of the greatest names to have played the game when he mastered Oak Hill Country Club to win his fifth major at the US PGA Championship.

He defended his title at LIV Jeddah late in 2023 and finished second to Talor Gooch in LIV’s 2023 Individual Championship. He became the first LIV golfer to win four events after winning in Singapore in May, 2024 and followed up with his fifth title in a playoff at LIV Greenbrier in August. Captain of the Smash GC team, Koepka clearly doesn’t subscribe to playing a club unless it absolutely works for him and changes clubs frequently.

 TAYLORMADE Qi10 DRIVER (9°)

Koepka had bounced between a Srixon ZX5 MKII LS driver and an old favourite - a TaylorMade SIM 2 driver - before moving to the TaylorMade Qi10 driver in early 2024.

The Qi10 driver features TaylorMade’s vaunted carbon fibre face, which promotes ball speed. A slightly larger head shape and new infinity carbon crown has given TaylorMade the capacity to shift weight deeper in the head, which lowers the centre of gravity, boosting stability and forgiveness. The Qi10 is geared for a neutral ball flight, allowing Brooks to shape the ball both ways off the tee. A Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 70 TX shaft is installed on Brooks’ Qi10 driver.

2017 TAYLORMADE M2 TOUR FAIRWAY WOOD (3W - 16.5˚)

Koepka carries just one fairway wood in his bag and it’s an oldie but a goodie - a TaylorMade M2 Tour 3 wood with 16.5˚ of loft. While it’s six generations removed from TaylorMade’s latest Stealth 2 fairway wood, the M2 Tour has featured in all four of Koepka’s major wins. Koepka’s M2 Tour fairway wood is fitted with a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 80 TX shaft.

NIKE VAPOR PRO 3 IRON

Koepka has stuck with an old Nike Vapor 3 iron, which he employs as a driving iron on tight holes. He’s kept it around despite Nike leaving the club making arena in 2016. Koepka has the Nike 3 iron paired with a Fujikura Pro Tour Spec 95 X (3)

SRIXON ZX7 MKII IRONS (4-9)

Koepka played Mizuno irons in each of his four major wins but he swapped them out for new Srixon ZX7 irons at the start of 2021 before moving across to ZX7 MKII irons in late 2022. CLEVELAND RTX6 ZIPCORE WEDGES RAW (46˚, 52˚, 56˚, 60˚)

Regarded as one of the great wedge players in golf, Brooks currently games Cleveland’s tour spec RTX6 ZipCore wedges. Similar in shape to many of Cleveland’s most distinguished wedges of the past decade, RTX6 ZipCore wedges are specced for tour use and offer superb feel and precise feedback.

They feature a sharp, narrow and deep groove pattern that produces more bite while the low-density ZipCore at the heart of the design shifts CG for enhanced control, spin, consistency and performance – no matter if Brooks is chipping around the green, blasting out of a bunker or dialling up full spin when stepping on an approach shot. The raw finish Brooks has selected on his 46˚, 52°, 56°, 60° Cleveland RTX6 ZipCore wedges will rust over time.

SCOTTY CAMERON PHANTOM X 5.5 PUTTER

Brooks benched his longtime Scotty Cameron Newport 2 in favour of a new Scotty Cameron mallet: the Phantom X 5.5. The Phanton X 5.5’s large head and perimeter weighted fangs create significantly more stability than his previous Newport blade putter. And that should mean more holed putts for Brooksy when .he mishits it out of the toe or heel.

SRIXON Z-STAR DIAMOND GOLF BALL

Srixon made a prototype ball especially for Koepka and he liked it so much they decided to put it into production for the rest of us. Brooksie’s ball was named the Srixon Z-Star Diamond and it is a soft three-piece tour ball. It features mid-spin, mid-launch traits and a dimple arrangement that reduces friction for extra distance through the air. And the Z-Star Diamond also features the thinnest cover of any golf ball on the market, which makes Brooks’ job of creating greenside spin much simpler.
