PING GLe3 Drivers, Fairways, Hybrids, Irons and Putters

Posted by GolfBox on 19th Jul 2023

The new PING GLe3 club range well and truly proves that nobody does a better job of making clubs for women golfers than PING.

The third generation of PING's women's line-up, GLe3 golf clubs are closely aligned with PING's brilliant G430 range.

The most significant takeaway is that the GLe3 Drivers, Fairway Woods, Hybrids, Irons and Putters are tuned specifically for slow-to-moderate swing speeds, rather than the ambiguous concept of being designed for women.

The GLe3 range is shorter and lighter, but it prioritises performance over paint colour at every opportunity.

The PING G Le3 driver features a short shaft and lightweight 460cc head for higher, longer and straighter drives.

PING G Le3 fairway woods and hybrids are faster, more forgiving and integrate seamlessly into a combo set.

PING G Le3 irons offer enhanced performance via heel & toe tungsten weighting, a PurFlex cavity badge.

The PING G Le3 range of four putters offers a selection of mallets and blades to suit every putting stroke.

PING G LE3 DRIVER

PING have declared the new G Le3 driver their longest women’s driver yet. They estimate it’s four yards longer than the previous model and after drilling into the details, you begin to understand why.

The 460cc lightweight titanium head is internally weighted for some anti-slice bias while the forged face is optimised to perform best for swing speeds that are around 80mph or slower.

A fixed weight on the rear of the club head is a handy addition, boosting stability and forgiveness while generating a higher launch angle for some extra carry through the air. The G Le3 driver also features a shorter standard shaft length (44.75”).

PING G LE3 Driver Tech

LIGHTWEIGHT TITANIUM HEAD

A lightweight 460cc titanium head boosts club head speed for slower-than-average swing velocities.

FORGED FACE

A forged titanium face is customised for slower swing speeds, flexing further for extra pop off the tee.

FIXED BACK WEIGHT

A static weight on the rear of the driver head produces a higher launch angle while also boosting forgiveness.

CROWN TURBULATORS

Improved air flow efficiency over the crown elevates club head speed to max out distance off the tee.

PING G LE3 FAIRWAYS

The NEW PING G Le3 fairway woods tell a similar story to that of the driver: lightweight head designs that lead to enviable distance gains.

PING have pegged them as being up to 7.5 yards longer than the Le2 fairways, which is a truly incredible accomplishment. PING G Le3 fairway woods feature 17-4 stainless steel heads which are linked with a maraging steel facewrap, a combination that promotes higher launch and increased forgiveness through additional face flex.

However, G Le3 fairway woods also spin less: the centre of gravity has been shifted forward while PING’s Spinsistency face roll radius levels out spin rates no matter which part of the face impact occurs.

PING G Le 3 fairways are available in a well-calibrated range of distance gaps, with 3, 5, 7 and 9 woods able to be integrated into a combo set alongside G Le3 hybrids and irons.

PING G LE3 Fairways Tech

MARAGING STEEL FACE

Prolific ball speeds and consistent spin rates emanate from the maraging steel face’s “Spinsistency” design.

STRONGER LOFTS

PING have optimised launch and spin by employing stronger lofts, which lead to distance-eating yardage gains

PERIMETER WEIGHTED HEADS

A perimeter-weighted head design increases stability through impact and elevates the fairway wood’s forgiveness.

TRAJECTORY TUNING

A new lightweight adjustable hosel offers loft tuning of plus or minus 1.5° to dial in the ideal ball flight.

PING G LE3 HYBRIDS

Like the G Le3 fairway wood, the hybrid line-up is constructed from perimeter weighted 17-4 stainless steel that merges with a maraging steel facewrap.

Tailored to maximise performance for swing speeds in the G Le3’s 80mph sweet spot, the hybrid face is designed for flexibility, which leads to extra distance and a high-launching ball flight that stops stone dead on the greens.

Featuring shafts that are a quarter inch longer than the previous model, the new PING G Le3 hybrids offer consistent distance gaps and will blend seamlessly into a combo set, alongside the irons and fairway woods.

MARAGING STEEL FACE

Prolific ball speeds and consistent spin rates emanate from the maraging steel face’s “Spinsistency” design.

DUAL ROLL FACE PROFILE

Consistent spin rates, particularly off the higher area of the club face, contribute to the hybrid’s well-rounded performance.

PERIMETER WEIGHTED HEADS

A perimeter-weighted head design increases stability through impact and elevates the hybrid’s forgiveness.

ALIGNMENT AID

A three-dot alignment marker on the crown will aid set-up position at address and help shots start on target.

PING G LE3 IRONS

A similar tale of lightweight design and heavyweight performance continues in PING’s G Le3 irons. Constructed from the same 17-4 stainless steel as the fairways and hybrids, the deep cavity-back irons deliver more speed and distance via a lightweight, heel-toe, perimeter-weighted design.

But arguably the biggest standout in performance terms is the PurFlex cavity badge, which promotes more flexibility in the face while upgrading both feel and sound. Designed to integrate with the Le3 hybrid and fairway wood into a single set, the irons feature an optimised bounce profile that improves turf interaction and prevents those chunky shots that fall short of the intended target.

The G Le3 iron set also features a PING EYE2-inspired sand wedge that should boost confidence from even the deepest and gnarliest of bunkers.

PING G LE3 Iron Tech

HEEL AND TOE WEIGHTING

Enhanced forgiveness abounds with the addition of high-density tungsten weighting around the irons’ heel and toe.

PURFLEX CAVITY BADGE

Feel, sound and distance are transformed through a new cavity badge, which permits the face to flex while absorbing vibration.

NEW BOUNCE PROFILE

To improve turf interaction, PING have introduced a new bounce profile to the sole that boosts strike consistency.

EYE2 SAND WEDGE

PING’s famous EYE2 sand wedge makes a return, with its classic wide sole design making ball extraction from the bunker easy.

PING G LE3 PUTTERS

Rounding out the G Le3 line-up are four new putters that will sync with a variety of putting strokes and styles.
PING’s ubiquitous Anser makes an appearance along with three new models: Louise, Fetch and Ketch G.

Each model features a two-piece Pebax elastomer insert that aids distance control and offers a precise feel on the greens.

PEBAX INSERT

A new two-piece elastomer insert offers outstanding feel and distance control on the greens.

PISTOL GRIP

A PING Pistol PP59 Deep Sea grip, designed for comfort and consistency, appears on every G Le 3 putter.

PING G LE3 ANSER

No PING putter release would be complete without a version of the Anser. The G Le 3 Anser’s traditional head shape and alignment aid on the rear cavity is a classic look and the putter will suit a stroke with a moderate amount of face rotation.

PING G LE3 LOUISE

Similar to the PING DS72 putter, the new Louise is named after PING co-founder Louise Solheim. Featuring a flared hosel, the new mid-mallet is suited to putting strokes with significant rotation of the face.

PING G LE3 FETCH

The Fetch is a compact, face-balanced high-MOI mallet putter that will suit a straight-back-and-through stroke. Its ball retrieval system on the sole will also assist players who struggle to bend down to pick up their ball.

PING G LE3 KETCH G

Featuring the same ball pick-up feature as the Fetch, the Ketch G features an aluminium body and stainless-steel sole that offers maximum forgiveness. The Ketch G will suit a straight or slightly arcing putting stroke.
