Scotty Cameron Studio Style Putters

Scotty Cameron Studio Style Putters

Posted by GolfBox on 21st Jan 2025

If you like classic blade putters, Scotty Cameron has something new for you. When we say new, we mean in a cool throwback kind of way…

Scotty Cameron revives the Studio Style name, which was first launched 20 years ago. While the name is retro, the new Studio Style line-up is actually designed for the modern golfer. In fact, the new 2025 Studio Style line-up represents the most significant redesign of Scotty Cameron’s blade offerings in years.

It does beg the question: how much can a timeless blade putter really be updated? The answer may surprise you when you see what the 12-strong Scotty Cameron Studio Style range has in store.

STUDIO STYLE TECHNOLOGY

The Studio Style line-up features a new face insert that was handpicked by Scotty Cameron tour staffer Jordan Spieth for its unique soft feel and sound.

Made from carbon steel, which offers superior damping qualities compared to stainless steel, aluminium or teryllium, Studio Style putters offer a distinctive soft sound and feel. The insert has been nickel plated to prevent the corrosion and oxidisation often associated with carbon steel.

But it’s the insert’s distinctive chain-link face milling pattern that is perhaps the most eye-catching feature of the Studio Style range. Complementing the carbon steel, it’s designed to create a softer feel than previous generations of Scotty Cameron putters. However, that’s not all.

The pattern actually helps players make an aggressive stroke on short and mid-range putts — particularly when holing putts at speed is the goal. In other words when you want to smash a putt through the break and straightline it into the hole.

Clever right?

THE STUDIO SELECT FAMILY

The new Studio Select family consists of a dozen putters. Some are entirely new models while others are reinterpreted or updated versions of timeless Scotty Cameron classics.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE NEWPORT

The Newport is a Scotty Cameron classic. The Anser-style blade features rounded bumpers, a plumber’s neck hosel and adjustable tungsten sole weights.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE NEWPORT PLUS

The wide-bodied Newport Plus takes it cues from the Newport blade but includes an aluminium sole plate that boosts stability.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE NEWPORT 2

Inspired by the Scotty Cameron putter Tiger Woods won 14 of his 15 major championships with, the Studio Style Newport 2 features a thicker topline, plumber’s neck hosel, adjustable sole weights and a tri-sole design. Also available in a LH model.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE NEWPORT 2.5 PLUS

The Studio Style Newport 2.5 Plus is identical to the Newport 2 apart from its jet neck hosel. The putter offers more toe hang, which will match a more aggressively arcing stroke.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE SQUAREBACK

The Studio Style Squareback is a mid-mallet that features a redesigned aluminium sole and polymer inserts, along with a new head shape that promotes correct alignment. It offers near face-balanced performance through a mid-bend shaft.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE SQUAREBACK 2 LONG

With a longer and stiffer 38” shaft and a heavier head weight — courtesy of 25g tungsten sole weights — the Squareback 2 Long model is designed to minimise hand movement in a stroke and engage the shoulders.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE FASTBACK

Offering a more rounded appearance, the new Studio Style Fastback is a near face-balanced mid mallet — achieved through its mid-bend shaft. A new heel-toe inlay creates a high contrast alignment aid while the Fastback’s aluminium sole plate and polymer insert increases MOI.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE FASTBACK LONG

Heavier 25g tungsten sole weights on the heel and toe raise the Fastback Long’s overall head weight to complement its longer and stiffer 38” shaft. Like the Squareback Long, it’s intended to keep the hands quiet in the putting stroke.

SCOTTY CAMERON STUDIO STYLE FASTBACK 1.5

The compact Fastback 1.5 mid-mallet returns with a jet neck that creates dynamic performance. It sets the Fastback 1.5 up with aggressive toe-hang that gives it the feel of a blade with the confidence-inspiring performance of a compact mallet.
