TaylorMade Stealth 2 Drivers, Fairways, Rescues & Irons (2023)
Posted by GolfBox on 22nd Feb 2023
The follow up to last year’s TaylorMade Stealth line-up has dropped and it’s called… Stealth 2.
TaylorMade’s inaugural journey down the Carbonwood path with the original Stealth was a successful one and vindicated the manufacturer’s decision to divert to a non-titanium future. But backing up from such a solid opening is a tough gig.
Sequels often suffer from unrealistic expectations and rarely surpass the original. After all, a follow up only gets the green light because the original was such a raging success. For every Empire Strikes Back, there’s a cavalcade of duds that should never have been made (like Zoolander 2, an absolute shocker). Is the new Stealth 2 line-up at risk of suffering from sequel syndrome in 2023?
Based on performance, we can tell you that Stealth 2 Drivers, Fairway Woods, Rescue and Irons are going to be a rampant hit at the box office.
Drivers
Stealth 2 Drivers continue the Carbonwood project, with a lighter and more forgiving carbon face in the three models.
Fairways & Rescues
Stealth 2 Fairway Woods and Rescues are fast, forgiving, versatile and extraordinarily reliable with extensive customised performance.
Irons
Stealth 2 Irons offer game-changing performance for a game improvement iron, with effortless distance and forgiveness.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Drivers
The Stealth 2 Driver is TaylorMade’s second crack at a carbon fibre face and they’ve done it slightly differently this time around. They’ve taken the 60x carbon fibre face and made it lighter, shaving 2g of weight.
In driver heads, repurposing 2g of weight is a big deal. It’s the incrementally small gains that often lead to the largest performance gains out on the course. And that’s what TaylorMade have found with the new Stealth 2 Driver, which is faster and more forgiving across the entire expanse of the club face.
Driver Technology
New 60x Carbon Twist Face
The new Stealth 2 Driver face refines the future! Weighing 2g less than the original, the Stealth 2’s 60x carbon fibre face and new Inverted Cone design features an enlarged sweet spot and better off-centre strike performance. The result? More sizzle off the face and greater consistency.
Carbon Reinforced Composite Ring
TaylorMade’s unique Carbon Composite Ring is the strong and silent type at the centre of the action. The strategically-placed component is the Stealth 2’s focal point, linking every component together with strength, and its light-weight properties free up mass to create additional forgiveness.
Nanotexture Cover
A polyurethane wrap was formulated to optimise launch and spin rates off the Stealth 2’s carbon fibre face. The finely-tuned exterior coating makes the new Stealth 2 Driver consistently amazing in any weather – wet or dry – so you can always confidently launch it long off the tee.
Inertia Generator
The aerodynamic powerhouse on the Stealth 2 Driver sole is responsible for dazzlingly fast speeds leading into impact. The inertia generator’s slippery asymmetric shape is designed to boost downswing speeds, no matter how fast you swing it, and its 30g weight also improves launch.
The Three TaylorMade Stealth 2 Drivers
There are options aplenty in the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Driver line-up! A trio of Stealth 2 Drivers – Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 HD – are tuned for specific performance. Looking for low-spinning distance? Supercharged forgiveness? Or anti-slice straightening? Stealth 2 has you covered.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus Driver
The Plus is the ultimate Stealth 2 Driver, with its smoking hot ball speed, low-spin, and flight bias adjustability making it a force off the tee. A 15g sliding weight on the sole can produce either a draw or fade bias while a static weight on the rear maintains stability to maximise forgiveness.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Driver
More forgiving than the Plus model, the standard Stealth 2 Driver is a high-MOI miracle club. Weight savings from the lighter carbon fibre face have been redirected low and deep in the club head, with stability and forgiveness further enhanced via a rear weight screw.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD Driver
If you drool over a high, drawing ball flight, the Stealth 2 HD should get you salivating! Draw-biased designs often come at the expense of forgiveness but that’s not the case with the Stealth 2 HD. It’s the most forgiving driver in the line-up and it’s also available in a women’s model.

A range of premium shafts can be fitted to TaylorMade Stealth 2 Drivers, with custom shaft fitting also an option. A Golf Pride Z-Grip is fitted as standard. Stealth 2 Drivers also feature an adjustable hosel, which can adjust loft two degrees higher or lower.

TaylorMade Stealth 2 Fairway Woods
Teaming a Stealth 2 Fairway Wood with a Stealth 2 Driver is an incredibly powerful partnership.
Like the driver line-up, the Stealth 2 Fairway Wood range eats up yardages like a hungry teenager chews through carbs, with ultra-fast ball speeds emanating from every part of the face. And the range of fairway wood models offers extensive customised performance, to match the breadth of the skill level spectrum.
While the Stealth 2 Driver’s supercharged carbon face didn’t make the transition to the fairway woods, many other features did. The carbon fibre crown, Thru-Slot Speed Pocket, Twist Face and Inverted Cone face tech all make an appearance. And the fairways’ V-Steel Soles slides through the turf at impact for pure ball-striking from even the shaggiest of lies.
From between the tee markers or off the deck, Stealth 2 Fairways are a joy to hit.
Fairway Wood Technology
Advanced Inverted Cone Technology
Stealth 2 Fairways’ “inverted cone” variable thickness design offers red-hot ball speeds from just about every square inch of the face. It makes Stealth 2 Fairways remarkably playable and will inspire confidence from any lie. Translation: you can crush it with a supreme level of confidence, every time.
V Steel Sole
TaylorMade’s renowned V Steel sole has been improving turf interaction for eons now and it’s back again on the new Stealth 2 Fairways. Its responsible for a high-launching, low-spinning ball flight and is a valuable addition – you’ll never be lacking confidence with the V Steel sole on board.
3D Carbon Crown
A lightweight carbon crown shifts weight from the problematic high toe and repurposes it rearward for extra forgiveness, stability and maximum playability. Laser etched into the top of the Stealth 2 Fairway crown is a visual alignment aid, to help keep things on the straight and narrow.
Comprehensive CG Adjustment
The 50g sliding sole weight and adjustable loft sleeve that features on the Stealth 2 Plus Fairway offers unmatched flight and performance adjustability for a fairway wood. Choose between high-flighted versatility or low-spinning distance, or anywhere in between. *Plus model only.
The Three TaylorMade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood Models
TaylorMade’s Stealth 2 Fairway Wood line-up consists of three models: Stealth 2 Plus Fairway, Stealth 2 Fairway and Stealth 2 HD Fairway. As far as performance bandwidths go, the Stealth 2 Fairway range is a broad one – all you have to do is plug into the one that’ll suit your game.
Stealth 2 Plus Fairway
The new Stealth 2 Plus Fairway is the king of playability. An adjustable 50g sole weight can be shifted forward to create a low-spin, max distance fairway. Or positioning it rearward creates a higher-launching and more stable club. An adjustable loft sleeve also provides 2˚ of flight variation.
Stealth 2 Fairway
If you’re after a Fairway that offers effortless launch, the standard Stealth 2 Fairway should be in your wheelhouse. It will suit the broadest range of skill levels and is highly versatile, with its carbon crown and V-steel sole combining for relentless forgiveness and pure elation from the tee or off the deck.
Stealth 2 HD Fairway
The Stealth 2 HD’s massive, oversized head will undeniably inspire confidence for higher handicappers. Its inherent draw bias, achieved via internal weighting, sits comfortably alongside the fact it is TaylorMade’s most stable Fairway Wood ever made. Also available in a women’s model.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood Features
A range of premium shafts can be fitted to TaylorMade Stealth 2 Fairways, with custom shaft fitting also an option. A Golf Pride Z-Grip is fitted as standard. The Stealth 2 Plus fairway also features an adjustable hosel, which can adjust loft 2˚ higher or lower.

TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescues
Bored by long irons? Have they fallen out of favour in your bag? If that’s a yes, there’s never been a better time to make the switch than right now.
To what, you might ask? To a new TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue.
TaylorMade’s Stealth 2 Rescue line-up is the most diverse ever offered, with three models to choose from. Each one offers an extensive range of lofts and are geared either for workability, pure speed, or slice-slaying forgiveness.
Rescue Technology
Advanced Inverted Cone Technology
An “inverted cone” pattern on the rear of the face is designed to maximise ball speed and performance across every part of the Stealth 2 Rescue’s face.
V Steel Sole
TaylorMade’s unique V Steel sole glides through the turf at impact while distributing mass more effectively, creating optimal launch and spin conditions.
Twist Face
TaylorMade’s Twist Face design straightens out mis-hits from all over the face while a durable yet flexible C300 steel face produces red-hot ball speeds and distance.
Thru-Slot Speed Pocket
TaylorMade’s proven sole cut-through makes an appearance on Stealth 2 Rescues, maximising speed and forgiveness from low strikes on the club face.
The Three TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue Models
TaylorMade’s three Stealth 2 Rescues are all good at what they do: providing more forgiveness and performance than a traditional long iron could ever do. And to make that performance even better, TaylorMade have tailored it for three different types of golfers.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus Rescue
The most compact model in the Stealth 2 Rescue range, the Plus Rescue is decidedly closer to an iron than wood in appearance. And as you’d expect, it’s designed for better players who desire to work and control ball flights with precision. An adjustable hosel offers a 3° window of loft tweaking.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue
The standard Stealth 2 Rescue is made for golfers who prefer their rescues/hybrids to be on the bigger side. More wood than iron, the Stealth 2 is easy to launch high and long and performs better than the original Stealth for strikes out of the middle of the face thanks to a revised centre of gravity.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD Rescue
With its draw bias, oversized head profile and additional loft, the Stealth 2 HD Rescue assists on so many levels. It will straighten up a chronic slicer while still providing all the game-improving speed, distance and forgiveness you could ever ask for. Also available in a women’s model.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue Features
A range of premium shafts can be fitted to TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescues, with custom shaft fitting also an option. A Golf Pride Z-Grip is fitted to the Stealth 2 Plus Rescue, with a Lamkin Crossline 360 standard on the Stealth 2 and Stealth 2 HD. The Stealth Plus Rescue also features an adjustable hosel, which can adjust loft angles 1.5˚ higher or lower.

TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons
In game-improvement irons, a big game is all that counts.
Maxing out distance and forgiveness is the name of the game. It’s go big or go home.
To put it bluntly, the new TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons are rather monstrous. Subtle they are not. But Stealth HD Irons go big, to get you home in the fewest strokes possible.
Designed for ball strikers who are probably aware of their limitations, Stealth HD Irons deliver wholeheartedly on the big promises that are so often pledged in the game improvement iron category. They are fast and forgiving. They will straighten a slice out with their in-built flight bias. But they are a little more than that. They are also user friendly. A vibration damping system introduces a level of refined feel that was only previously attainable in a forged iron.
Soft feel and the brightest and best bits of performance-enhancing technology – that’s why Stealth HD Irons are the new game-improvement superstars.
Iron Technology
Cap Back Design
A lightweight polymer cap on the cavity supports a stainless-steel frame and topline, allowing mass to be taken out of the high toe area and moved to the sole to boost speed and forgiveness.
Echo Damping System
A soft slab of polymer is employed within the Stealth 2 Iron cavity, contacting the face on multiple points to damp unwanted vibrations and provide a soft feel similar to a forged iron.
Thru Slot Speed Pocket
TaylorMade’s Speed Pocket - a narrow cut-through on the sole - increases face flexibility and ball speeds, particularly on strikes that come out low on the face.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD Irons
When extreme distance and forgiveness meet in an iron, it looks pretty much like TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD Irons! Packed to the brim with game improvement technology and a draw bias, they’re oversized irons that are designed to straighten you up and get you playing your best golf more often. The Cap Back design pushes the centre of gravity lower than ever, for effortless launch, and a Thru Slot Speed Pocket allows the face to flex and rebound with freedom, for massive speed off the face. And the best thing of all? TaylorMade’s Echo Damping System offers a refined feel reminiscent of a forged iron.
TaylorMade Stealth 2 HD Iron Features
TaylorMade also offer a Stealth 2 HD Women’s iron model. Stealth 2 HD irons are fitted with a KBS steel shaft or Fujikura Speeder graphite shaft as standard, while the Stealth 2 HD Women’s irons feature an Aldila Ascent Ladies graphite shaft. A Lamkin Crossline grip is standard on the Stealth 2 HD and a Lamkin Ladies Sonar grip features on the Stealth 2 HD Women’s irons.
